Fall Boot Must-Haves

Disclaimer: This post is sponsored by Nordstrom and ShopStyle, and contains affiliate links.

I know I already shared my fall must haves, but I wanted to get a little more specific. Yes, it’s sweater weather, but for me, fall really means boot season!

In addition to OTK boots and ankle boots, which are clearly my current fall closet footwear staples, there are two other pairs of boots that I feel are absolutely essential to keep in rotation as the temperatures start to drop.

Dress: Alice + Olivia | Boots: Dr. Martens | Necklace: Kate Spade

COMBAT BOOTS

90s grunge is trending in such a major way right now. As someone who definitely dresses more on the casual side, I’ve surprised even myself with the fact that I’ve never owned a pair of Dr. Martens before. I really like how solid they are and feel confident that they will do great in the snow, and from what I’ve heard they are super durable and last for years. I’m still getting comfortable with styling them but I’m so glad to finally have a pair. I’m even considering getting another pair in white.

Cardigan: Madewell | Jeans: Madewell | Boots: Ugg | Bag: Madewell | T-Shirt: Daydreamer | Earrings: Madewell (similar)

COMFY BOOTS

For the most part I’m still staying home. A pair of boots that I can either wear around my apartment or to quickly take out the dog are an absolute must for me. Yes, I have a pair of Birkenstocks for that, but the weather has been getting cooler, especially in the early morning and late at night, which is when I’m out with Koda. I now keep this pair of Ugg mini boots right by my entryway, so I can quickly slip them on and go! Unlike the Dr. Martens, this isn’t my first pair of Uggs. I also have a pair of black one, just not a pair of the Classic Mini boots. For cozy warm vibes these boots are perfection.

The best part of it all is that I’ve been able to find all my fall footwear at Nordstrom! They have free shipping and returns as well as curbside pickup. And with The Nordy Club, you earn points for every dollar you spend and get exclusive access to specific brands.

Which style of fall boots are you most excited to wear this season?

Nordstrom Summer Style

Disclaimer: This post is in partnership with Nordstrom and ShopStyle, and contains affiliate links.

Summer may look a little different this year, but trust me when I say that it is far from cancelled.

So many people prefer fall to summer, especially when it comes to fashion. I personally, have always been and will probably always be team summer. Don’t get me wrong, I love fall fashion, but summer style has a very special irreplaceable spot in my heart.

Which is why I’m elated to share that I’m partnering with Nordstrom and ShopStyle again! This time to share my Nordstrom summer style picks.

Growing up, I didn’t have the most positive self image. So, it makes me happy to have found not only my voice, but some much needed self love. That’s probably why I love summer style so much, it allows me a chance to show off my body, on my terms.

I love that Nordstrom carries Free People since the sense of whimsy the label carries embodies the sense of casual whimsy that I enjoy about summer. This bodysuit is the color of the sun and features a deep plunge, which I am all about!

Not styling this look with a good distressed pair of denim shorts, would be insane to me. These are too perfect and the fact that they are not only under $100, but also come in several different colors makes them the ideal piece for any summer wardrobe.

As for the shoes, Free People makes the softest leather sandals and shoes. I own at least four pairs and was just ecstatic to find these and these similar ones!

Don’t even get me started on the Nordstrom jewelry collection… I love Madewell and Gorjana for earrings and necklaces, and Nordstrom has both.

I know this is a style post, but I figured it couldn’t hurt to share that all the makeup I’m wearing is available at Nordstrom too, so I’ll also make sure to link to what I used!

Oh, and in case you missed it in my last post, Nordstrom has free shipping and returns as well as curbside pickup and The Nordy Club, with which you earn points for every dollar you spend and get exclusive access.

1 Band Tee Styled 3 Different Ways

Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links.

I’m pretty sure that the one item I have the most of is now graphic tees. Even more specifically, band tees. They are without a doubt something that I do not need more of. And yet, when I saw this Queen one on a mannequin in Nordstrom, I knew that even if I didn’t leave with it that day, it would eventually be mine.

I was not wrong.

And I’ve been wearing it more than you might believe, considering how many different ones I also own.

These three looks were the first three ways I’ve worn it, other than with sweatpants.

Which look is your favorite, 1, 2 or 3?

Casual Cool Winter Outfit

I’ve said it before, but Anine Bing is ultimate style goals for me. She is the definition of casual cool girl style that I tend to strive for.

That being said, I don’t own a ton from her collection. The pieces that I do have, I love beyond a doubt and know that I’ll wear countless ways.

My newest addition is this tiger sweatshirt. I’ve only worn it once so far, but I loved how effortlessly cool I felt in my outfit the day I wore it. Nothing fancy, but chic nonetheless.

How would you describe your style goals and who embodies that for you?

11 of My Top Instagram Outfits from 2018

For my first blog post of 2019, I wanted to share some of my top Instagram outfits from 2018. But first, let me explain…

“Whenever you find yourself doubting how far you can go, just remember how far you have come…” -Unknown

That is exactly how I’ve been feeling lately.

One of my goals for last year was to blog consistently. I didn’t care if it was once a week or once a month, but I wanted to make sure that I was blogging and not just posting on Instagram.

With the start of the new year, I was getting down on myself, feeling like I hadn’t done enough. I honestly don’t know what made me think to do so, but I decided to look over my 2018 blog posts to see how often I’d posted. There were a couple of months I posted multiple times (March and November), and only one (October) where I didn’t post at all. Not perfect (some months the only reason I posted was because it was sponsored and I had to), but I am quite proud of what I accomplished.

My Blog Goal for 2019

This year my goal is to post at least twice a month. I know there are bloggers out there posting 3-5 times a week, but know that for me, committing to do too much would lead to anxiety or putting forth rushed content that could be better.

Posting with Intention

One thing that I should have more of, was to share more of the content that I was creating for Instagram on my blog. While I did start to figure that out a little towards the end of the year, I want to do so more intentionally this year.

Some of my top Instagram looks have already made their way to the blog, but figured it couldn’t hurt to share them again, in case someone needs some outfit inspiration.

Something About Sézane

Simone Sweater Sezane Simone Sezane Russel Russel Sweater

While I would trade fall fashion for summer weather in a heartbeat, I can’t help but find myself grateful for sweater weather. Especially after discovering the French brand Sézane.

My first of their sweaters was from the Madewell x Sézane collaboration. What I loved most about it was the back details. And the fact that it could be worn backwards for a completely different look.

After seeing other digital fashionistas in Sézane pieces, it was impossible to not fall even deeper in love!

Courtney Halverson (of Pretty Little Fawn) inspired me to get the Simone sweater and Frédérique Harrel (of Freddie Harrel) made me want the Timothée.

These outfits feature two of latest sweater purchases. Even though I styled both of these looks with jeans, knitwear goes equally as great with a skirts, which is how I’ve been wearing them to work.

Which of these sweaters is your favorite and how would you wear it?

Summer Dress Dilemma Solved

As much as I love summer, figuring out what to wear when you want to look cute, but it’s a thousand degrees is the opposite of fun. I’ve partnered with Topshop to share the perfect solution to finding just the right dress for each of your summer needs!

Given the fact that summer often means too hot to handle temperatures, having some above the knee option is a must for me. It also has to be something that can effortlessly go from day to night.

When I want to go for something a little dressier, a wrap dress is for sure the way to go. Wear it with heels, sandals, or sneakers, since it requires very little to no styling, you can grab a bag and you’re good to go. Brunch? Wrap dress. Drive-in movie? Wrap dress. County fair? Dinner with his parents? Day exploring the city? Wrap dress, wrap dress, wrap dress!

To keep things a little more casual, go with something versatile that will look cute no matter how you decide to style it. A sleeveless option allows you to wear it with a jean jacket or light cardi for more options, even though it’s plenty cute solo. And, when fall starts to creep up on us, you can always layer it. The possibilities are practically endless! I promise you will absolutely, at some point next season, see me in this gingham dress both under a chunky knit sweater and over a turtleneck.

My Favorite T.J.Maxx Summer Finds

Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. This post is sponsored by T.J.Maxx, but the content, opinions, and style shared are all my own.

I’ve partnered with T.J.Maxx to share my favorite finds of the summer. With 100s of new arrivals each week, it’s impossible not to fill your online shopping bag with your favorite designer brands. With free shipping on orders $89 or more, fighting the urge to buy everything that I find is a legitimate struggle for me. And with T.J.Maxx’s everyday low prices, I am completely and totally fine with that.

You know what I can seriously get enough of, ever? Denim. Specifically jeans. Two of the looks I am sharing are featuring designer blue jean denim, that I scored from The Runway section on The Runway section on T.J.Maxx.com. The Runway features premium designer fashion at incredible savings.

Initially I was concerned about the fit, and nervous about finding jeans that worked for me, but being able to filter down the size options eliminated me falling in love with any jeans that weren’t available in my size. No fomo, is a very good thing. If they happen to not fit the way I like, having the option to return them in store is super helpful!

And while jeans are still my number one go-to, finding my favorite brand dresses at great value, is too good an opportunity pass. This summer I’ve definitely found myself wearing dresses a little more than anything else. I didn’t expect to find this dress, but being able to search clothes by style (in this case contemporary) allowed me to view things I might not have searched for specifically, but are exactly what I didn’t know I wanted.

This linen dress is one that can be worn to picnics in the park, long walks on the beach, or days that are just plain hot.

I wore it most recently for a date night to a local pizzeria, where we ordered buffalo chicken everything and got caught in the rain on our way home. I plan to wear in again very soon during our family vacation to Maine.

These three different tjmaxx.com looks all help fulfill my desire for glamour and luxury, at prices the make me look like the star that I think that I am. And the second look, the bodysuit and shoe are also from tjmaxx.com!

Summer styleUP Challenge with thredUP

Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. I’ve partnered with thredUP for their Summer styleUP Challenge, where I take 1 item and style it 5 different ways.

Some time ago, I shared about using thredUP. I don’t know if I really explained exactly what thredUP is.

thredUP is a fashion resale website, where you can both buy and sell secondhand clothes online. I like it because I can send in a bag (provided by them) of gently worn or like new clothes and then use the credit I earn to shop their 15K new arrivals added every day. What I really love, is that the clothes don’t take up any much needed space, while I’m waiting for them to sell and whatever doesn’t sell, they will responsibly recycle your clothing!

My favorite thredUP finds are ones that are that are unique, but easy to style a number of different ways.

This Banana Republic dress is the perfect example. I’ve partnered with thredUP to style it five different ways for summer.

  1. Keep it fun! Adding jeans and comfortable sneakers, takes a dress and makes it a summer outfit that’s perfect for both cooler days or summer nights.
  2. Spice up a dress with accessories. Wear it with a leather jacket and/or over-the-knee boots for a sexy date night look.
  3. You can never go wrong with sneakers and a denim jacket, no matter what you’re wearing. A dress is no exception.
  4. Wear it the same way, but different. Switch things up by layering a skirt over it. This essentially creates a different dress. Have a lot of skirts? Well then, lucky you, you’ve got a lot of options!
  5. My favorite way to accessorize a dress (other than over jeans), is with a belt. Matching pieces gives you a monochromatic look to wear all summer long.

Which look are you most likely to rock this summer? Make sure to check out all the pieces currently up for grabs on thredUP!

Seaport Elise Loafer

Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. I’ve partnered with Sperry to show you how I style their shoes, and do prep, my way.

Working with Sperry has been such an amazing experience. I have long since been a fan of their sneakers (I own four pairs!) and boat shoes. My latest pair of Sperry shoes, and newest obsession is their Seaport Elise Loafer. They are perfect for work or for a day at the beach, and I’ve been wearing them for both.

Give me a shoe that I can dress up and down and I am one happy shoe lover!

Ever since starting back on a 40 hour corporate work week, finding shoes that fit my personal style while being both reasonably comfortable, yet still professional looking enough to wear to work has been a struggle. These loafers are were the answer to addressing all of those concerns.

I haven’t worn them with a dress yet, but I am confident they will look amazing with one. I promise to share photos on Instagram when I do, because I know that I for sure will at least once this summer.

What style of dress would you most like to see me wear Seaport Elise Loafer with?
