If ever there was a year that we could all use a little more cheer, this is that year. I typically am not one to jump into the holiday season the day after Halloween, but decided to make an exception. My holiday candles are out and lit. I even swamped out my usual throw blanket, for a more festive one. And if you think I’m not playing Christmas music, then well, I just don’t know what to tell you.
Hot cocoa (or in my case, hot strawberry milk) and marshmallows are always better in a holiday themed mug. I’m not sure why, they just are.
Cozy throws in shades of reds, greens, and creams, scream Christmas, and as the snow falls, there’s no place I’d rather be than snuggled under one on my couch, while wearing my favorite sweater and coziest slippers.
Listening to my favorite holiday tunes feels far more nostalgic when coming from a record player. So set the needle and let it spin, while you let it take you to the North Pole.
And I know you know that Nordstrom has free shipping and returns as well as curbside pickup. And with The Nordy Club, you earn points for every dollar you spend and get exclusive access to specific brands. But did you also know that Nordstrom has pretty much everything you need to deck out your halls and help you get into the holiday spirit?
Are you team make your spirits bright or team not until after the turkey?
Despite what one might think, my place isn’t very decorated.
I have, however, tried to give it more of a homey touch by adding some decor pieces that I feel could work in just about any space, generally speaking, of course…
1. A collection of some sort. I’m not big on history or geography, but I like to travel + globes are pretty neat.
2. Something alive. Plants that don’t die easily are ideal.
3. An artistic personal touch. Photo magnets via PicStick.
4. Fancy expensive looking things. Found at Wal-Mart.
5. Trendy touches. How doesn’t have the Domino book on their coffee table?
I work in higher education as live-in professional. I won’t bore you with what that means (but please feel free to ask questions in the comments!), but I have a tiny apartment and while I can’t complain too much about it (#rentfree), I am not completely in love with it.
I mean, I don’t hate it.
I just don’t love it.
I want to love it.
Enter Pinterest. I am currently pinning images that I believe would make my apartment feel more like home. I want to start with my bedroom, because that’s where my desk is + so I spend most of my time there.
Recently, I have across some boards that have just the feel + look that I am going for. The perfect pinspiration, if you will. If you aren’t following them, you should really check out these out!
I have expensive taste, but not so big a budget. I am thinking about DIYing a lot of projects for what I want in my space and sharing them. Also, some before + afters will be shared.
These Intagram photos of my place should hold you over until then. If not, you can always follow me on IG…
