My September Julep Maven Box

My last few Julep Maven Box posts have been the result of me forgetting to skip the month (as I stop typing to go skip for October), but not this time…

I racked up enough Jules to get my September box free!

My September Julep Maven Box

I usually go with my Bombshell box, but this time opted for the It Girl, all nail polish box. So, where I would typically get two nail colors and a beauty product, this month I got three nail colors.

September It Girl Box

Well, technically four. Because this month’s treat was the signature Julep nail color! It’s my favorite one this month and I am so happy about the timing of this all!

I got a holographic color in my August box as well, they are fun, but I don’t know that I’ll wear them very often. I guess I’m just kind of basic like that.

Julep Delores

I thought Aubrey was a holographic color as well. Turns out it’s not, but still fun. Plus, it’ll be nice for fall. Which officially begins tomorrow. Can you believe it? I’m not ready. Some friends and I even have a giveaway on Instagram because #summerforever!

Julep AubreyZoey is legit the color I have been looking for all summer. Is it too sad to say that I’m already looking forward to wearing it next year? Not that I won’t before then.

So many colors, it looks like I’m going to have to start doing my nails more.
How often do you switch up your polish?

My August Julep Maven Box

I pulled a Britney, and OOPS…

I did it again.

I totally forgot to skip my August Julep Maven box.
But I’m not going to lie, this time I’m really happy that I did!

One reason, being the Brave Pretty campaign.

The other? What I got in my box.

Mari, a pretty holographic pink and Sophia, a brilliant bright blue, alone made the box worthwhile.

But after trying baked blush, I was maybe a little too excited to try this Skip the Brush blush crayon.

It’s so easy to apply and great to bring with you in your purse, because you don’t need a makeup brush to use it! Just apply directly and blend with your fingers.

Julep Maven boxes almost always include a little treat which is usually candy, but this month, they switched it up with tiny metallic temporary hand tattoos!

I will most definitely be rocking these.

Another perk?

I now have enough Jules to get the September box for free!

My April 2015 Julep Maven Box…Oops!

Remember when I said I wouldn’t be getting my Julep Maven box for a while? Well, I may have forgotten to skip this month and was really upset with myself. That is until I got my box, or rather, until I tried the beauty product included.

Paradise Collection

April 2015 Julep Maven Box

I have so much nail polish that, according to the manfriend and my family, I don’t need more. I say, I don’t need that kind of negativity. And that’s what my bank account tells me. I half joke…
But, what I do need is an endless supply of Don’t Leave Your Brows At Home in rich brown.
I have shared almost way too many brow products that I use. That’s because I really go through them. I like trying different ones, because the only way to know which one you like best is to try them all. Again, half joke.
But seriously, even when I don’t really put on a lot of makeup, I do my eyebrows.

This is my favorite, yes, favorite brow product to date. Minimal effort for eyebrows on fleek. I mean it.
And the polish colors are two that I know I’ll be using this summer. One of them is named Drew. (In case you didn’t know, the manfriend’s name is Andrew and thanks to all the college students we’ve worked with I call him Drew more often than he probably likes. Also, my niece and youngest nephew call him Uncle Drew. The other three refer to him as their aunt’s boyfriend…) Plus you can’t really go wrong with pink.

Next month I’ll go back to skipping, and set a reminder in my calendar so I don’t forget. And now I know what I’ll be using all my Jules Points for!

In case you were wondering, this month’s candy was the Everlasting Gobstopper.

My Last Julep Maven Box…

Yes, this is my last Julep Maven Box.

But not for the reason you might think.

Because of my current situation, I’ve had to make some big girl decisions and won’t be getting any boxes for a while… With the exception of Birchbox, because I have a year subscription, THANK THE LORD!

The plan was to skip the January Julep Maven box, but I was so intrigued by the Luxe Lip Conditioning Treatment, that I just couldn’t. I also really wanted the February Julep Maven box, but you have to draw the line somewhere…

Trust me, if I had it my way, I wouldn’t ever skip a month! Then again, I’m glad to have the option to when I need.

I got the January Bombshell box and it included:

And because Julep is just the sweetest ever, they added on a special little gift. (I thought I’d gone temporarily insane and spent even more money, but nope!)

And, as always, the sweet treat!

Junior Mints

I haven’t  gotten around to testing these all out just yet, but when I do, you will know!

Except for the Junior Mints. I don’t like them, so I gave them to my mom. She was happy.

I fully intended to skip my Julep Maven Box this month. Not because I don’t love it, but because I have A LOT of nail polish + not so much money. That being said, I am SO glad that I didn’t!

The Bombshell colors were just to die for…

And a while back I got the Beach Tonic, loved the scent, loved the product, HATED the bottle. I couldn’t get it to spray consistently without have to pull the nozzle up after EVERY. SINGLE. SPRAY.

So, even though it was probably just a bad bottle (I also got the Sea Salt Hair Spray, in the same style bottle and it worked just fine), I didn’t use it nearly as much as I would have liked to.  This month the featured item was the Bare Body Milk, that smelled just like the Beach Tonic, but in lotion form. I die.

Beach Tonic

Now I get to rock the scent that I enjoyed with the hassle. Plus, it works really well!

I am one happy chica.

May Julep Maven Box

Like many makeup and beauty hoarders, I have a lot of nail polish.Name just about any color or finish and I’m pretty sure own it.

And yet, I still find that I do not have enough.Talk about first world problems…

I need my nail polish fix!

Bombshell Julep Maven

If you’re anything like me, then Julep is the answer. By becoming a Julep Maven, you get a monthly mani in a box.

Julep Add-Ons

Unlike some other subscription boxes, with the Julep Maven Box you have the option to not only skip a month if you need (which I do from time to time, because, well, shopping happens + I got bills to pay), but also the option to  gift your box to a friend.

May Bombshell Julep Maven Box

What makes the May box so special, is that it included the new Julep Plié Wand. This wand take the theory of writing with a pen or pencil and applies it to the mani, giving you more steady control as you paint your nails. This goes against my logic for leg shaving, but I can attest that it works. And well. Very well. I dig it.

Plie Wand

Right handed and not at all ambidextrous? Not a problem! After attaching the magnetic wand to your nail polish and paint your left hand, the plié wand twists to rest on your hand so you can stably paint your right hand.

Believe it or not, my right hand actually came out better than my left for once!
